 Elder Mendenhall.jpg

Elder Tanner Mendenhall is serving a full-time, two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission.

This mission has special meaning for Elder Mendenhall because his mother, the daughter of Chinese immigrants, was born in Cambodia.  She and her family suffered through the Killing Fields of the Communist Khmer Rouge, who victimized the Cambodian people from 1975 to 1979.

The family escaped to Thailand and spent a brief time in a refugee camp before being sponsored to come to the United States in 1980.
